Summer Greenhouse growing tips, ventilation and more

Summer gives you the chance to grow a wide selection of beautiful plants in your greenhouse. However, the warmer weather means that you will need to provide your plants with plenty of care. To ensure that your plants grow successfully during the summer season, there are a number of steps that you can take.

During the summer season, your plants will need to be watered regularly. Your greenhouse will become very hot during this season, so your plants will be thirsty. It is recommended that your summer plants are watered twice daily, usually morning and night. Some plants may require more water than others, so be sure to pay extra attention to the ones that require more care. Researching the needs of your plants will enable you to provide them with just the right amount of water they need to keep them healthy.

During the warmer months, it is vital that you provide your plants with plenty of ventilation. Ventilation will prevent your greenhouse from overheating, providing a much healthier atmosphere for your plants. There are many types of ventilation available, so you are sure to find something that suits your greenhouse. A fan heater is ideal for providing plenty of air in your greenhouse.

During summer, you may experience problems with pests. Keeping the atmosphere in your greenhouse healthy will help to reduce the risk of your plants being damaged by insects. Use safe methods of pest removal to avoid creating an unhealthy atmosphere in your greenhouse.

There is a wide variety of staging and shelving available that will enable you to maximise space in your greenhouse. Adding staging or shelving will provide you with extra space to store your plants or any small garden tools, allowing you to avoid cluttering the floor of your greenhouse.

Summer is a great time for filling your greenhouse with exotic plants. Some plants, such as cacti, require less maintenance than others and will thrive in the warm weather. However, before you consider growing any exotic plants, be sure to research their needs. Caring for a wide range of beautiful plants provides you with a challenge and by providing them with plenty of care, you can spend warm summer evening enjoying the results.
