How To Select The Best Greenhouse Design For Your Garden
In this day and age everyone wants to help the environment. You’re probably wondering how you can contribute to this noble effort. How about making your very own greenhouse? There are so many different types on the market that deciding which Greenhouse Design is perfect for you couldn’t be easier.
Greenhouse Designs are varied, depending greatly on what plants you’re growing, what kind of budget you have, and probably most importantly where you live. If they’re the kind of plants that require temperate climates, you’ll want to consider a hoop house, lean-to, or cold frame greenhouse. Both the hoop and cold frame greenhouses allow the gardener the luxury of movement –being able to move your house from one location to another in your yard gives your plants the opportunity to flourish as the seasons change. Lean-tos take up little space, acting as additions to the side of your house.
Any greenhouse designer will tell you that weather conditions aren’t your only consideration. Thinking about the kind of space you’re working with will help you decide if a traditional greenhouse or a hobby house is for you. For instance, if you live in a traditional flat with a balcony or patio, your best bet is to choose a greenhouse design most suited for small spaces –a hobby house or a Mini Greenhouse. Of course, as soon as you decide which greenhouse will work for both your location and your climate, you’re next step is to understand how to design a greenhouse. Basic construction of any house is rather simple of you’re able to put in a little time and effort. The easiest design is that of a cold frame or hoop house. You’ll need to construct your frame (for a hoop house, PVC piping and connectors; for cold frame houses, aluminum rods). Covering is a cinch –use plastic; it’s versatile and easy to manage. Perhaps you’re not the self-constructing type. That’s quite alright. There are a plethora of greenhouse kits that include all your materials, instructions, and the best nursery supplies for your plants. You will spend substantially more on this option however.
